The short answer

In retail the sale, the tax document and the stock movement must be one event. Design the till, the fiscal signature and the ledger as a single flow, and branch visibility follows.

Stages

One sale, three records, one flow

  1. 1
Sale at the till The POS captures the sale, price, discount and payment, online or offline.
  2. 2
Fiscal signature The tax document is signed with the authority or fiscal device at the point of sale or at posting.
  3. 3
Stock movement Inventory decrements for the branch in the same transaction, so availability is right everywhere.
  4. 4
Statement and posting End-of-day statements post sales, tax and payments to the ledger by branch.
  5. 5
Replenish and report Replenishment and margin reports run from the same data.
Decision points

Three questions that change the answer

Can the till trade offline?

YesDesign the offline queue and the reconciliation when it reconnects.

NoBlock the sale until the connection returns.

Is a fiscal signature required at the till?

YesSign at the till and store the receipt number on the sale.

NoSign at posting and link credit notes to the original.

Do online and branch stock share one pool?

YesEnable omnichannel availability and set reserve rules.

NoKeep separate pools and report both.

Milestones

What done looks like, and when

  1. Pilot branch POS, fiscal signing and stock live in one branch.
  2. Wave 1 Next branches on the same template.
  3. Wave 2 Omnichannel orders and promotions.
  4. Steady state Replenishment and margin reporting by branch.
Principles we hold to
  • The sale, the tax document and the stock movement are one event.
  • Signing sits inside the flow, not beside it.
  • Branches run on a template.
  • Credit notes link to the original document.

Frequently asked questions

How does eTIMS work with Dynamics 365 retail?

Invoices and receipts are signed with the Kenya Revenue Authority from inside posting or the point of sale, and credit notes are linked to the original document. Our eTIMS product does this inside Business Central.

Can Dynamics 365 handle many branches?

Yes. A branch template lets each new branch start from the same design, with local tax and stock rules applied.

01

Discover

Process workshops, data audit, and a fit-gap against the standard product.

02

Design

Solution blueprint, integration map, and the extensions we will actually need.

03

Deploy

Configuration, migration rehearsal, role-based training, UAT and phased cutover.

04

Support

Hypercare, managed services, client portal, scheduled optimisation reviews.

What drives the cost: users, legal entities and currencies, integrations, data migration and the gaps found against standard. See how pricing works, run the three-minute readiness score, or book a consultation.
