When your current system is the right answer
For a single entity with simple inventory and few approvals, accounting software is often enough, and a move would add cost without adding value.
Signs you have outgrown it
These patterns usually appear together.
What Business Central adds
Multi-entity and multi-currency consolidation, inventory and warehousing, manufacturing and projects, approval workflows, role-based security and audit, Power BI on the live ledger, and a path to Finance & Operations as the business grows.
What a move involves
Opening balances, open items and master data move; you choose how much history to bring. See our migration page.
How an engagement runs
It starts with a 45-minute consultation, then a discovery and fit-gap workshop on your own processes. You receive a written fit-gap and a phased plan before a programme is agreed. Four phases follow, each with something you can use and review.
Discover
Process workshops, data audit, and a fit-gap against the standard product.
Design
Solution blueprint, integration map, and the extensions we will actually need.
Deploy
Configuration, migration rehearsal, role-based training, UAT and phased cutover.
Support
Hypercare, managed services, client portal, scheduled optimisation reviews.
What drives the cost: users, legal entities and currencies, integrations, data migration and the gaps found against standard. See how pricing works or run the three-minute readiness score.
Frequently asked questions
Is Business Central a replacement for Sage?
For businesses that have outgrown accounting software, yes. For simple single-entity businesses, staying can be the better choice.
Can we keep our Sage history?
You decide how much history to migrate. Many organisations bring opening balances, open items and master data and keep the old system read-only, subject to retention duties.
Does moving help with GDPR?
A designed system with role-based access, audit and retention rules makes data-protection duties easier to meet. It does not make you compliant on its own.
Statutory rates, filing rules, mandate dates and data-protection requirements are set by the relevant authorities and change; we confirm the current position with you and your advisers before configuration. General information, not tax, legal or data-protection advice, and not a statement that any product or service is certified or approved by a regulator.
